We’re still waiting. But Birdie’s time is almost up: if Em isn’t in labor by Monday night, we head into the hospital for an induction. The good news is that the midwives have a very “conservative” (as my father puts it) approach to induction: pitocin + bag breaking is the last thing they’ll do. The bad news is that the combination of other, gentler induction methods can take up to 2.5 days, so we might be in the hospital for as much as five days next week. Ugh. But it’s a relief to know that we will meet our baby in the next few days. We can’t wait.
One advantage (the only advantage) to going late is that we got another ultrasound. And the .5-1.0 oz Birdie is gaining each day now is heading staight to his/her cheeks:
Emily has decided that Birdie obviously looks like her (wtf?). Those cheeks are so adorable. Just a few days until we get to see the real thing.

So cute! I guess s/he is just a June baby, and you can’t force a June baby out in May. BTW, pitocin is not all that bad. Actually I was pretty happy with it – zero (contractions) to baby in ~4 hours.
We’re all waiting for Birdie here!
