Inquiring minds want to know: how is Belly doing with Ellie? When Belly stepped into the house after her stay with Ben & Beth (her home away from home) she immediately knew something was different. She ran around the house frantically sniffing around Ellie’s things.
Ellie was asleep in Em’s arms and I don’t think Belly had any sense that there was another living thing in the house…until Ellie squawked. Belly’s satellite ears perked up and she immediately ran to Ellie to sniff her head. And that was basically that. Belly will occasionally sniff Ellie and we praise her for doing so. But other than that, Belly does her own thing. Nonetheless, Belly is adjusting, more or less successfully, to not being the center of our attention. Things are not made easier by the fact that whenever we say “Ellie,” Belly comes running,
happy that we have finally decided to focus on her for once. She is sadly mistaken. Poor dog. But we’re actually still paying a lot of attention to her and she still comes to our bed every morning at 6am to take her rightful place under the covers. A happy family indeed.
In other news, we have been so happy having so many visitors. It’s a real joy to see Ellie loved by so many good friends. And, if you’re still not sated, here’s yet another album of pictures.

She’s amazing, and Em, she looks just like you! (Ellie, I mean. Although Belly is also very pretty). I love her Thinking Baby picture. So many things to contemplate, so little time awake.
