Just about everyone has remarked on the fact that Ellie is very alert. We took this as a compliment. But then Em’s aunt, Pat, told us that when she met a particularly ugly baby all she could bring herself to say truthfully was, “He’s very alert.” Now we laugh whenever anyone tells us Ellie is alert.
A huge thanks to Pat for giving us run of her house the past four days. We had a wonderful time.
