Aubrey and Lu are visiting Northfield. It’s wonderful to have them here and we will post properly about it soon enough. But right now, I want to share another exchange I had with my mother:
Me: The Sunday Times is in the living room.
Lucille: It’s on the floor. You must never put a newspaper on the couch.
Me: Did I put it on the couch?
Lucille: No.
Daniel: ?
All sorts of new pictures over at Picasa, including a few from our wonderful thanksgiving meal at Cati and Blakes.

I know this question is surely going to reveal some deficiency in my sense of decorum, but I must ask, why should one never put a newspaper on the couch?
I didn’t ask, but I assume it’s because the ink rubs off. So really, one shouldn’t put a newspaper on anything you don’t want to be inked.
thats correct – ink marks are impossible to get off
