IMG_7004.jpgHi all. Sorry we’ve been slow on the blog front. Nothing worthy of a dedicated blog post has happened recently, so this is merely an update post.

1) Ellie is a getting a lot more hair. That’s her sitting in a Bumpo, courtesy of Aimee and Ives. Thanks guys (she loves it)!

2) We took advantage of today’s fantastic weather to watch the MIAC championship soccer game between Macalaster and Carleton with Kim and Jason (who roused himself for the 1pm start time). Carleton lost 1-0. Here’s Ellie after a perplexing call by the referee.

3) With winter round the corner, one of my favorite features of Carleton is being put in place: two, big hockey rinks right in the middle of campus. I’ll be bringing my skates to the office next term.

4) My office is almost entirely set up. This will give you a good idea of what I’m working on and what I eat while I’m working on it.

5) Eleanor’s personality is really starting to shine through. She can now anticipate, which makes playing with her oh so much fun. Hands slowing heading toward her tummy or repeated gestures that end in a kiss or some such result is squeals of delight. We’ll get it on video for all y’all soon.

6) We bought house number tiles to replace the standard/chessy ’818′ that was there before. We like them.

7) We had the wonderful experience of running into Jason as we were leaving our offices (Em and Ellie had come to see me) and sitting around, shooting the sh*t for a little while before heading downtown and running into Dan, Bonnie and Leo. Nothing makes a place feel like home like running into friends. Living in Northfield is like living in Lincoln Square. Minus the Thai food. Sigh.

Hopefully, some crazy thing will happen to us over the next week and we’ll get back to our regular, scintillating posts.

Yay! More photos from Northfield! Keep ‘em coming — they are very much appreciated. And wow! Hair, indeed. By Christmas there may be a flowing mane — or at least enough to tie a bow on.

Oh my – hockey in front of a church. Now that is positively Québecois. Yay Minnesota! I always knew that we had long-lost brethren out there somewhere. And you seem to have found them!
